God is Greatly to Be Feared – Psalms 89:7

In Psalms eighty nine Ethan the Psalmist asked, “For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?”, and in chapter eighty nine and verse seven of Psalms Ethan said, “God is greatly to be feared” where we read,

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints,

and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

The verse begins, God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, … The Psalmist began with the words, “God is greatly to be feared” or “the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God exists as abounding, abundant, numerous and exceedingly dreaded and caused to be terrifying” “in the assembly” which means “within the council, company and congregation” “of the saints” or “belonging to the holy, set apart and sacred ones”. Ethan said the Divine judge Jehovah God is to exist as dreaded and terrifying within the congregation belonging to the sacred and holy ones.

The verse continues, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. The Psalmist added the words, “and to be had in reverence” or “and to exist as feared, revered, afraid, honored and respected” “of all them” which means “pertaining to each, every, the whole and everyone of the people” “that are about him” or “who encircle and surround him, the Divine judge Jehovah God”. Ethan said the congregation of the sacred ones were to revere and honor Jehovah God with everyone who surrounded them.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Ethan declared Jehovah God the Divine judge to be revered and set in awe within the congregation of the holy and sacred ones, and He was to be honored by everyone who surrounded them. God loves people, and He desires to be in a personal relationship with them through His Son Jesus. When we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins grant us everlasting life and allow us to join the congregation of believers who give Him praise, honor, glory and reverence for all eternity.

Next time the Psalmist Ethan asks, “who is a strong LORD like unto you?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
