Glad Because of Quiet – Psalms 107:30

In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse thirty of Psalms the Psalmist said the people in the sailing vessels upon the sea, “are glad because they be quiet” where we read,

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he brings them unto their desired haven.

The verse begins, Then are they glad because they be quiet; The Psalmist began with the words, “then are they glad” or “at that time, therefore, wherefore and these things being so the people in the sailing vessels on the sea rejoice, cheer up and are joyful” “because they be quiet” which means “since and on account that they, the winds and waves of the sea, subside, cease, and exist as still and quiet”. The Psalmist said when Jehovah God spoke and caused the winds and waves of the sea to be still, the people within the sailing vessel were joyful and rejoiced.

The verse goes on to say,so he brings them unto their desired haven. The Psalmist continued with the words, “so he brings them” which means “thereafter he, Jehovah God, carries, leads and guides them, the people in their sailing vessels upon the sea” “unto their desired haven” or “to their, the people in the sailing vessel on the sea, delight, pleasure, longing and purposed city, enclosed place or small town”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God carried and led the people within the sailing vessels on the sea to the city or place they have pleasure and delight in.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist said the result of Jehovah God calming the stormy winds and waves was for the people who were sailing upon them to be happy and cheerful. They were led to the city about which they were passionate, and God guided them there. God is for us, and He proved it when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring us to His “desired haven” for us with Him in Heaven forever.

Next time the Psalmist says again, “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
