Do Not Forget God’s Benefits – Psalms 103:2

In Psalms one hundred and three David said, “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name”, and in chapter one hundred three and verse two of Psalms David said, “forget not all his benefits” where we read,

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

The verse begins, Bless the LORD, O my soul, … David began with the words, “Bless the LORD” or “kneel before, adore, praise and salute Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “O my soul” which means “O my, David’s, inner man, mind, will, desires, living being and seat of emotions and passions”. David repeated his instruction to his own inner being, mind, heart and will to praise and adore Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,… and forget not all his benefits: David continued with the words, “and forget not” or “and do not in any way or manner ignore, cease to care or mislay from want of memory or attention” “all his benefits” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of his, Jehovah God’s, dealings, recompenses, acts and rewards”. David encouraged himself not to ignore or cease to care about the recompenses, acts and deeds of Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David instructed himself to adore and praise Jehovah God again, and he added that he should never cease to pay attention to God’s recompenses and rewards. God loves and cares for us in many, many ways, and when we pause to think about all His blessings toward us, we have much for which to give Him honor and praise. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring to our minds over and over again His blessings and goodness to us.

Next time David says, “Who forgives all your iniquities”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
