Turning the Wilderness into Standing Water – Psalms 107:35

In Psalms one hundred seven the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground. A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein”, and in chapter one hundred seven and verse thirty-five of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “turns the wilderness into standing water” where we read,

He turns the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

The verse begins, He turns the wilderness into a standing water, … The Psalmist began with the words, “He turns the wilderness” or “He, Jehovah God, puts, sets, appoints, establishes, fixes and constitutes the uninhabited land or desert place” “into a standing water” which means “into troubled or muddy pools or marshes”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God puts desert places into muddy pools or marshes.

The verse goes on say, “… and dry ground into watersprings.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and dry ground” or “and thirsty land” “into watersprings” which means “into egresses or veins of water”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God turns the thirsty land into egresses of water.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist shared the reverse of Jehovah God’s works mentioned in verse thirty-three of this chapter. God is able to make the wet – dry, and the dry – wet. It’s all part of His creation, and He controls it according to His Divine purpose and will. God created us, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to die on the cross for our sins. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be amazed at His wonderful works over the desert areas and the “watersprings” in the world.

Next time the Psalmist says Jehovah God, “makes the hungry to dwell”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
