Fatherless Children – Psalms 109:9

In Psalms one hundred nine David said speaking of his enemy, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office”, and in chapter one hundred nine and verse nine of Psalms David said, “let his children be fatherless” where we read,

Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

The verse begins, Let his children be fatherless, … David began with the words, “let his children” or “allow and permit his, the adversary of David’s, progeny and offspring” “be fatherless” which means “exist as without a dad or as an orphan”. David wanted Jehovah God to make his enemy’s offspring to be as orphans.

The verse goes on to say, “… and his wife a widow.” David continued with the words, “and his wife” or “and his, the adversary of David’s, female spouse” “a widow” which means “a desolate woman whose husband died”. David wanted Jehovah God to cause His “wife” to be without her dead husband.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David continued to give Jehovah God suggestions as to what should happen with his enemy’s offspring and spouse. David took his problems to Jehovah God because he knew God would take care of his enemies. God loved David, and He loves us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and contend with our adversaries according to His Divine will and plan.

Next time David says, “let his children be continually vagabonds”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
