God Saved Israel from Their Haters – Psalms 106:10

In Psalms one hundred six the Psalmist said, “Our fathers understood not your wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of your mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness”, and in chapter one hundred six and verse ten of Psalms the Psalmist said Jehovah God, “saved them from the hand of him that hated them” where we read,

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them,

and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

The verse begins, And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, … The Psalmist began with the words, “and he saved them” or “and He, Jehovah God, rescued and delivered them, the people of Israel” “from the hand of him” which means “apart and separate from the hand of strength, power, might and ability belonging to the people” “that hated them” or “who were odious and as enemies to them, the people of Israel”. The Psalmist referred to when Jehovah God rescued the people of Israel from the power of the people who were their enemies and “hated them”.

The verse goes on to say,… and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. The Psalmist continued with the words, “and redeemed them” or “and acted as a kinsman-redeemer and avenger to them, the people of Israel” “from the hand” which means “separate and apart from the power, might and ability” “of the enemy” or “belonging to the hating foes and adversaries”. (See Exodus 14:30; 15:9-10) The Psalmist said Jehovah God avenged the people of Israel separate and apart from the power and might of their hating foes and adversaries.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover how the Psalmist referred to when Jehovah God rescued the people of Israel from the Egyptians. God allowed the people of Israel to pass through the dry ground of the Red sea, however, when the Egyptians pursued them, God caused the waters to return to their former state and crushed the Egyptians beneath the waves. God saved the people of Israel, and in the same manner He will deliver every person who yields to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and deliver us from our enemies who want to destroy our souls.

Next time Psalmist says, “the waters covered their enemies”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
