Early Destroying the Wicked – Psalms 101:8

In Psalms one hundred and one David said, “He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that tells lies shall not tarry in my sight”, and in chapter one hundred one and verse eight of Psalms David said, “I will early destroy all the wicked of the land” where we read,

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land;

that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

The verse begins, I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; The Psalmist began with the words, “I will early destroy” or “I, David, shall put an end to, cut off, exterminate, extirpate and terminate at the beginning of the day, at dawn and when the sun rises” “all the wicked” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the ungodly, criminal, guilty of sin and hostile to God” “of the land” or “belonging to the country, territory, region, district, earth and world”. David said he would quickly, at the beginning of the morning, eliminate every one of the people who are criminal and guilty within his country.

The verse goes on to say,that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD. The Psalmist continued with the words, “that I may cut off” or “so I, David, might eliminate, kill, take away and consume” “all the wicked doers” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the trouble makers, idolatrous, evil, unrighteous and vain actors and performers” “from the city” or “separate and apart from the place of waking, guard and town” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the exiting One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said when he “destroyed” everyone of the evil workers within his country, there would be none of them left within Jehovah God’s dwelling place.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David wanted the “wicked doers” to be eliminated from his “land”. These people constantly brought trouble and sorrow to the people within his country, and when they were eliminated, wickedness would be gone as well. God knows every person has sin in their lives, and for this reason, mankind was separated from a relationship with Him. God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty of death on the cross for the sins of everyone, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, cleanse us from all unrighteousness and grant us everlasting life with Him. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus who made a way to “destroy” the wickedness within us and preserve our lives to live with them forever.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “Hear my prayer, O LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
