God’s Eyes upon the Faithful – Psalms 101:6

In Psalms one hundred and one David said, “Whosoever privately slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that has an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer”, and in chapter one hundred one and verse six of Psalms David said, “my eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land” where we read,

My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land,

that they may dwell with me: he that walks in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

The verse begins, My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, … David began with the words, “my eyes” or “my, David’s, physical eyes or mental and spiritual faculties” “shall be upon the faithful” which means “will exist or rest on the confirmed, established, verified and trusty” “of the land” or “belonging to the country, territory, district, region and earth”. David said his physical, spiritual and mental eyes would rest on people who were confirmed, verified and established in the earth.

The verse goes on to say,… that they may dwell with me: he that walks in a perfect way, he shall serve me. David continued with the words, “that they may dwell with me” or “so the people might live, abide and stay in the midst and among me, David”: “he that walks” which means “he, the person whether male or female, who ambles and makes their way and manner” “in a perfect way” or “in a complete, whole, entire, wholesome, unimpaired, innocent and without spot manner”, “he shall serve me” which means “the person who walks in a perfect way shall minister, wait on and minister to me, David”. David said the reason he would watch the people who are established and verified in the earth was so they could live with him, and the people who are complete, unimpaired and innocent would minister to and wait on him.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David observed the trustworthy and established people in his country, and he wanted them to live with him. He said people who made their way in a wholesome and unimpaired way would minister to him. David knew having people surround him that were purposed to follow after the ways of Jehovah God became good neighbors and workers, and we should take a lesson from him. God wants everyone to come to Him through His Son Jesus, and He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to live in a manner that is pleasing to Him. God loves us, and we who believe and trust in His Son Jesus shall spend all eternity giving Him thanks and praise for who He is and who He has made us to be.

Next time David shares about, “he that works deceit”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
